Arsenal beat struggling Bristol City 5-0 to go nine points ahead of fourth-placed Manchester United in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Beth Mead bagged a first-half brace and Alessia Russo did likewise after the break, as Arsenal moved within three points of second-placed Chelsea from a game more and moved closer to securing Champions League football for next season.
Bristol City remain seven points adrift of West Ham United, with four games left each.
Mead’s first came on the rebound from a Caitlin Foord effort against the post, her second was followed by an Ella Powell own-goal from Steph Catley’s cross.
Russo fired in the fourth from the edge of the box and rounded off the scoring with 17 minutes still to play.
