Arsenal have announced that they will play north London rivals Tottenham in a pre-season friendly.

The Gunners have announced a late fixture into their pre-season calendar, with the Women’s Super League season just over two weeks away.

Renee Slegers’ side are already due to meet West Ham later this month. However, they will face their closest London rival this week.

When is the pre-season friendly between Arsenal and Tottenham?

Arsenal have confirmed they will face Tottenham in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, August 23rd.

The game will take place at 3pm at the Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park – the home of Boreham Wood Football Club.

Tickets for the game go on sale at 12pm on August 20th, with a general sale starting at 2pm.

Arsenal fans could get the chance to see Mariona Caldentey and new signing Olivia Smith, who won Player of the Year awards at the PFA gala dinner on Tuesday night.

Smith joined Arsenal for a world record £1m fee earlier this summer. However, while she won the Young Player of the Year award at the PFA awards, she could be set to lose her world record.

Mexico international Lizbeth Ovalle could break Smith’s £1m record, as she closes in on a move from Tigres to Orlando Pride.

The game also provides the chance for Arsenal fans to potentially see some of England’s Euro 2025 winning squad.

Chloe Kelly signed a permanent deal with Arsenal earlier this summer, while Leah Williamson, Alessia Russo and Beth Mead all play for the Gunners.

Michelle Agyemang won’t be at the game, as she was loaned out to Brighton for a second season.

When does the 2025-26 Women’s Super League season begin?

The 2025-26 Women’s Super League season begins over the weekend of September 5th to 7th.

Arsenal will face the London City Lionesses on Saturday, September 6th. The newly promoted Lionesses could have Beth Mead on their side, with the Arsenal forward potentially leaving the Gunners before the new season.

Tottenham face London rivals West Ham on Sunday, September 7th.

Spurs finished 11th in the Women’s Super League last season and will be hoping for a better campaign under new manager Martin Ho.

The first north London derby of the WSL season will take place on November 16th at Tottenham. Arsenal will then host Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium on March 29th, 2026.

Arsenal have introduced a meet and greet opportunity for fans at all home games this season. Season-ticket holders and six-game bundle members are automatically entered into a draw at every Emirates WSL fixture.
