Andree Jeglertz will lead his Manchester City side into the Barclays Women’s Super League derby against Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.
And he says it’s the biggest match of his Manchester City career so far.
“It’s very difficult to compare [with big occasions at other clubs],” Jeglertz said to journalists in a press conference on Thursday.
“Right now, I’m working here, so this is the biggest game so far, I would say.
“So I’m really looking forward to it, to play in that stadium in front of our home fans and also with the precision we have as a team right now.
“It’s going to be great, but it’s difficult to compare. Every game has its special, special moment, and of course, it will be huge.”
Jeglertz previously coached Umea to the UEFA Women’s Champions League (then the UEFA Women’s Cup) in 2004, and also managed Denmark in the 2025 Women’s Euros.
United will be competing for league title, says Jeglertz
When it comes to United, Jeglertz knows his side will face a tough test.
“They are a great team. I think they have done very well, both in Champions League but also in the league. So they are definitely going to be in top of the league to compete about with the other teams that have the right to win the league.
“So they will definitely be a contender to that – definitely.”
“Manchester City are a very good football team”
City, however, go into the weekend as league leaders – although Jeglertz says the squad have not spoken too much about their position in the table.
“We definitely are a very, very good football team, but on the other hand, we are also working every day to become a little bit better, because we also know that if we want to be in this position when the league ends, we still have the parts that we would like to become better in.
“And that’s what I like with this group also, that they are never satisfied.
“No matter how good we have performed, they always find the things that they would like to become better in, and that drive and that ambition is going to make us even better all the time.”
City face United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, 15th November.
