Adrian Iglesias Garcia Arrives As QPR Coach

The Spaniard, who boasts a UEFA Pro License, strengthens Martino Chevannes’ backroom staff ahead of the new FA Women’s Premier League season.

Iglesias Garcia arrives with a wealth of experience in both men’s and women’s football from his native Spain – his latest spell coming at Salamanca.

Speaking about the appointment, R’s manager Chevannes told www.qprlfc.co.uk: “We’re really pleased and excited to have Adrian on board. His appointment is a big step in the right direction and will add a new dimension to the team.”

He added: “In my meetings with Adrian I was impressed with his enthusiasm and passion for the women’s game along with his extensive knowledge and attention to detail.

“He’ll bring a new philosophy and a different style of coaching to the team, and I have no doubt that the players will embrace the change and buy into what we are trying to achieve at the club.

“We’re keen to strengthen our team both on and off the pitch and his signing is certainly a positive one.”

Iglesias Garcia replaces long-serving coach Miguel De Souza, who departs after several years with the R’s.

“I would like to place on record our thanks to Miguel who has left the club to pursue another career opportunity,” Chevannes said. “He has served QPR well for a number of years and, on behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank him for his efforts and the massive contribution that he made in order for us to be where we are now.”

The news follows Lauren Peck’s arrival, who became the R’s first summer signing last week.

QPR Ladies are still looking to add to both their First Team and Reserve Team squads ahead of the new season – on the lookout for players with experience at FAWSL, FAWPL or similar level. Email [email protected] to register your interest.
