Abergavenny Drawn Home To Welsh Cup Holders

Cardiff Met won a capital derby in the FA of Wales Women’s Cup on Sunday and now continue their defence of the trophy away at Abergavenny in the new year.

Cardiff Met won the local derby at Cardiff City FC, although Erin Murray’s early back-heeled opener was quickly cancelled out by Shannon Evans. But Monique Fischer sent the holders through when scoring with 20 minutes remaining.

North Wales League outfit Bangor City had their tie moved to Llandudno and bowed out but with a respectable 4-2 scoreline against the Welsh Premier team.

Port Talbot Town were 6-1 up by the  break against Caerphilly Castle and added another five goals for a 11-1 result.

The all-North Wales League tie saw Northop Hall come out on top, 4-1 against Bethel.

Abergavenny ran out 11-0 winners over South Wales League side Barry Town United. Maxine Mudge, Lauren Boyd,  Kate Jeremiah and Gabi Hughes all scored twice, with one apiece for Lyndsey Davies, Laura-Jane Davies and Mali Summers.

Cyncoed crushed Llangyfelach 23-0, Caitlin Bevan top-scoring with five. Gwen Davies, Rosina Hill, Fern Burrage, Kerry Moore, Kristie Davies and Naomi Grant were amongst those netting twice.
