Midfielder Mel Filis makes move to Charlton Athletic Women

Former West Ham United midfielder Mel Filis has completed a transfer to Charlton Athletic on a two-year deal.

The 21-year-old had impressed on loan during the second half of last season, making 10 appearances and scoring three goals.

She played 37 times for the Hammers and has been capped by England up to U-23 level.

Filis told charltonafc.com: “The league is very competitive, playing in the games on the back end of last season was really nice to be playing to win something and fighting for promotion.

We came so close, part of me does think we will 100% get it over the line this season and I’m really motivated to help the team to do that.”

Meanwhile, forward Angela Addison has departed the Addicks to sign for National League Ipswich Town.

The former Spurs player of 66 games, clocked up 40 appearances whilst with Charlton.
