Reading have signed forward Jesse Woolley on loan from Barclays WSL side Bristol City for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old, who has represented England and U-17 and U-18 levels, played 20 matches in helping Bristol City to promotion last term.

Woolley told bcfc.co.uk: “I would like to become a better player, focusing on the areas I need to work on, and also contribute to the team’s success. I’m a direct and forward-thinking player who values defensive duties. I’ll do my very best for you guys and hopefully contribute with a few goals.”

Head coach, Liam Gilbert said of his new signing: “She reflects the identity we want to build as a club – the ability to go forward, take on players, and be direct. It’s a rare trait, coupled with her hard work and defensive resilience. These are areas we’ve been working on to enhance our team’s identity.”

Meanwhile, Sanne Troelsgaard has followed Freya Gregory, Rose Kite and Freya Meadows-Tuson in recently departing the Royals.
