Watford have signed Dominican Republic international right-back Lucía León after she ended a two-year spell with Real Betis.

León earlier played for Spurs 42 times, helping them rise from the FAWNL through to the WSL, scoring their first-ever goal against Arsenal in that league.

A former Spanish U-23 international, León had a loan spell at Madrid CFF, later making over 40 appearances for Real Betis in the country’s top flight.

She played in pre-season friendlies for the Hornets after her latest caps for Dominican Republic over the summer.
