Everton’s 26-year-old Italian international midfielder Aurora Galli has agreed a one-year contract extension until the end of June 2024.
Galli, nicknamed Yaya, became the first-ever Italian player to compete in the WSL and featured in 20 of Everton’s 22 league matches last season.
“It’s a big responsibility this season because it’s my third year in England,” she told evertonfc.com.
“I feel so happy to be here because when you are able to continue with our progress and the group continues to mature, it feels special to be a part of it.
“I’m confident we are moving in a positive direction and can once again show what we’re capable of this season.
Manager Brian Sorensen added: “Yaya is a fantastic person and a great footballer.
“She’s technically very gifted, she understands what we want to do really well.
“From very early on working with her, she understands what we’re trying to do.
“Towards the end of last season, she began to show what she’s made of and hopefully we can build on that.
“We have a long pre-season where we can continue that growth so when the season starts, she can be as sharp as she can be.”
