Paige Gooden completed her hat-trick to give Margate victory in a seven-goal thriller against Deal Town. It was a double-header with the men’s teams, likewise Skegness Town’s 4-2 beating of Belper Town.

Tricia Gold got all of MK Dons’ first three goals during a 6-0 victory at Notts County, Meg Stapleton also netted three for another new team in Mellor as Hyde United were defeated 4-2.

The inaugural game for St Albans City women’s side brought a 2-0 success at Northampton Town Development, with the Saints further boosted by the sale of 100 season tickets.

Romford drew away to Wormley, where the newcomers scored first in their opening friendly.

Warrington Wolves’ game with Salford United had to be abandoned at half-time, due to a medical emergency.
