40 years ago today: Scotland 2-3 England

Forty years ago today, Scotland hosted England in what was the first official women’s international for both countries.

On 18th November 1972 at Ravenscraig Stadium, Greenock, Scotland and England met in an historic match, which the visitors when 3-2.

Sylvia Gore opened the scoring for England, Scotland then replied through Mary Carr and went ahead with a Rose Reilly effort. direct from a corner kick.

But England hit back with a brace by Pat Davies to win 3-2.
