Winners of the FA Women’s National League Northern and Southern Premier Divisions clash at Stadium MK for a place in the Barclays Women’s Championship.

The 1pm kick-off on Saturday 20 May has Watford looking for an immediate return to the second tier, while Nottingham Forest aim for a first-ever promotion to the Championship.

Forest faced Watford just four weeks ago in the FA WNL Cup final, when they were 3-2 winners after extra time.

Watford Manager Damon Lathrope told thefa.com: “We are really positive. We’ve got a strong squad, we’ve got players back that weren’t available in our previous meeting with Nottingham Forest.

“We’re pretty much at full health and the mood’s really good. The mentality that they’ve shown in big games at the back end of the season, not just the final day but the game before that against Oxford where we came off the back of the disappointment of losing in the final.

“The mood and the atmosphere are excellent, I really do feel like the players are confident, they believe that it’s their time and they know if they go and execute what we’ve worked on then we’ve got a hell of a chance of winning it and being promoted.”

Forest Head Coach Andy Cook told nottinghamforest.co.uk: “Preparations for the game have been going really well. We could not be in a better place ahead of the play-off final.”

“The squad is looking well, and ready for the final. I could not be more pleased with where we are right now.”

“Watford will be out for revenge after the League Cup final, but we know what we need to do and have to focus on ourselves.”

“Watford are a very good side; they’ve got some excellent players – we have seen that in the previous cup final.”
