A recent signing for the Northern Combination side from South Park Rangers, who feels it necessary to play in her dad’s socks!

1. What is your full name and age? Amy Eve Simpson, 16

2. What do your team mates call you on the footie field? at South Park “Simmo” and at Middlesbrough “Amy”

3. Who do you play for and which team do you support? South Park Rangers FC, Middlesbrough Ladies and Cleveland County. I support Arsenal, I have done since I was 11. I cried when Cesc Fabregas left

4. Are you left or right footed? Right

5. What is your fave position and why? Centre midfield because we always cover a lot of ground and we always have a job to do

6. If you could meet a player (male or female) who would it be? Cesc Fabregas

7. If you could play on the same team as anyone who would it be? Rachel Yankey or Kelly Smith

8.. What colour shirt would you most like to play in? Pink

9. Can you describe yourself as a footballer, in three to five words? Competitive, ambitious and committed

10. What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you in football? Falling over during my run up to take a throw-in

11. Do you have you any superstitions? Yes, I always have to wear my dad’s socks under my shin pads, because if I don’t I feel I would have a bad game

12. What is your favourite pre-match or post-match music? Beyoncé or Rihanna

13. What is your favourite post match treat? Banana

14. Who is your biggest fan? My dad and my boyfriend Oli

15. Who are your heroes? My dad and Cesc Fabregas

16. What is the most common thing you shout in a match? Play like it’s 0-0

17. What advice would you give to someone who has been called up into an squad for a camp/game for the first time? Relax and enjoy yourself and most of all have fun

18. How did you feel when you got a call asking you to sign? I was so happy, I couldn’t stop smiling!

19. How did your friends and family feel about this? Ecstatic, especially my dad, my coach Gary and my nana. Also my mum . I couldn’t stop telling people!
