Born Kicking – Mollie Kennedy (Brighouse Town LFC)

Took part in the North East Division 1 South leaders’ incredible FA Cup tie that they won on sudden-death penalties after an 8-8 draw.

1. What is your full name and age? Molly Kennedy, 17.

2. What do your team mates call you on the footie field? Molly

3. Who do you play for and which team do you support? I support Leeds United and play for Brighouse Town LFC.

4. Are you left or right footed? I am right footed.

5. What is your fave position and why? My favourite position is centre back because I can overlook the whole of the pitch and see the whole game.

6. If you could meet a player (male or female) who would it be? If I could meet any player it would be David Beckham.

7. If you could play on the same team as anyone who would it be? If I could play on the same pitch as anybody it would be Steph Houghton.

8.. What colour shirt would you most like to play in? My favourite colour shirt is navy blue.

9. Can you describe yourself as a footballer, in three to five words? It would be a passionate and determined player

10. What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you in football? It’s gotta be the 1st round FA Cup qualifier, Brighouse Town were playing at home against City of Manchester Ladies. The final score was 5-5, so the match went into extra time, afterwhich the score was 8-8, which meant penalties. After City of Manchester’s goalkeeper missed her penalty, it was down to us to score the winning penalty.. The end result was 6-5 to us on penalties meaning we qualified for the FA Cup first round.

11. Do you have you any superstitions? The only superstition I have is that I do not walk on three grates on the street because it is bad luck, whereas walking on two is good luck.

12. What is your favourite pre-match or post-match music? The pre-match music I listen to is upbeat motivational songs.

13. What is your favourite post match treat? After Sunday matches I always enjoy a Sunday lunch

14. Who is your biggest fan? My biggest fans are my mum and dad who come to all my matches, home and away and support Brighouse Town.

15. Who are your heroes? My hero has always been David Beckham as I have watched him ever since I started playing football as a kid.

16. What is the most common thing you shout in a match? I don’t tend to shout very much, that’s one thing I need to work on during the season.
