Burnley finished fourth in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division after hitting Middlesbrough for six.

Burnley went above Nottingham Forest to end just a point short of third-placed Fylde, following a big win over Middlesbrough. Evie Priestley’s early penalty was quickly cancelled out by Boro’s Armani Maxwell but Dom Cooper and Nic Worthington netted to give the Clarets a 3-1 interval lead. Priestley bagged a second-half brace to complete her hat-trick, Katie Thomas the rounding off the scoring.
Hull City avoided finishing bottom of the table with a fine 2-1 win away to sixth-placed Huddersfield Town. Helen Lynskey found the net from 25 yards and double her tally, before Laura Elford’s swift response for Huddersfield.

Alnwick Town 3-4 Bradford City (Att: 67)
Newcastle United 8-1 Barnsley (Att: 376)
Runners-up Newcastle United beat Barnsley 8-1, with the visitors ending just two points above the drop zone. Lauren Robson hit a hat-trick, Brooke Cochrane a brace, with one apiece for Bethany Guy, Becky Ferguson and Katie Barker, while Eve Marshall replied for the Tykes.
Bradford City took seventh place from Norton on goal-difference after winning a seven-goal thriller at Alnwick Town. Charlotte Stuart (2), Emma Elliot and Hope Knight got the goals for the Bantams, who needed a penalty save by Skye Kirkham to take all three points.
