France, Spain and Sweden all qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Tuesday 12 April but Germany lost in Serbia.
Group A – Finland 6-0 Georgia Sweden 1-1 Republic of Ireland
Kosovare Asllani cancelled out Katie McCabe’s opener as Sweden rescued a point at home to Republic of Ireland, who were over taken in the table as Tottenham’s Eveliina Summanen netted in either half for the Finns, who have played a game more.
Group B – Scotland 0-2 Spain
Spain booked their place in the finals as Jenni Hermoso scored a first-half penalty and added a second goal from open play, for a sixth straight win.
Group C – Czech Republic 0-1 Iceland
Gunnhildur Jonsdottir’s first-half effort was enough to give Iceland three points and again lift them into pole position ahead of the Dutch.
Group D – Austria 8-0 Latvia, Luxembourg 2-1 North Macedonia, Northern Ireland 0-5 England
Lauren Hemp and Georgia Stanway were at the double in England’s eighth win in a row, Austria are guaranteed at least a play-off place, while Luxembourg recorded rare back-to-back wins when coming from behind to beat North Macedonia, Amy Thompson on target twice.
Group E – Denmark 2-0 Azerbaijan, Montenegro 0-2 Bosnia & Herzegovina
The Danes had to wait until the last quarter of an hour to secure the points at home to Azerbaijan, their eighth win from eight in the group.
Group F – Armenia 0-4 Albania, Kosovo 1-6 Belgium, Norway 2-1 Poland
Norway went two up against Poland before being pegged back once, staying three points ahead of Belgium whose Tessa Wullaert scored four times in a 25-minute spell.
Group G – Croatia 0-1 Romania, Lithuania 4-0 Moldova, Switzerland 0-1 Italy
Cristiana Girelli struck seven minutes from time to send Italy top above the Swiss, Erika Gered’s fourth-minute goal was enough as Romania won in Croatia to stay in contention.
Group H – Israel 1-0 Turkey, Portugal 3-0 Bulgaria, Serbia 3-2 Germany
Jovana Damnjanović bagged a brace as Serbia defeated Germany, who suffered their first away qualifying defeat since 1998. Portugal beat Bulgaria with three first-half goals, Shira Elinav got the only goal as Israel defeated Turkey.
Group I – France 1-0 Slovenia, Greece 3-0 Estonia, Kazakhstan 0-3 Wales
Delphine Cascarino’s 48th-minute goal gave France another narrow win over Slovenia and qualification for the finals. Kayleigh Green, Natasha Harding and Jess Fishlock all struck to give Wales victory in Kazakhstan and send them second. Birmingham City’s Veatriki Sarri put Greece ahead as they went on to defeat Estonia.
