Willaston have won the Cheshire Women’s League Championship West title at the first attempt and with one game to spare.
The 2-0 home win over third-placed Egerton on Sunday 13 March took them beyond the reach Chester Development, despite their own 6-0 derby victory against Chester Nomads.
The Wirral-based side formed in 2020 are comfortably top scorers in the division, Chelsea Burke leading the way with 23 goals from only eight games.
Willaston still have the Challenge Cup to play for and visit Whitchurch Alport on 24 April with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
With promotion to the Premier Division secured, Willaston could face neighbours Ellesmere Port Town next season. although their local rivals are still chasing a league title of their own.
