Belles see off Owls
Doncaster Rovers Belles won 3-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday to reach the Sheffield & Hallamshire Cup quarter-finals. Goals from Jess Andrew and Jasmine Saxton had Belles 2-0 up inside half an hour and heading for the expected win, but Shannon Coughlan reduced the deficit before the interval to give Wednesday hope. Saxton’s second shortly after half time made it 3-1 and she had chances for a hat-trick but was denied by Wednesday keeper Megan Parkin, who made several decent saves during the game to restrict Belles to a narrower margin of victory than might have been.
