Swansea moved to woithin 12 points of leaders Cardiff Met with 3 games in hand, after defeating Aberystwyth for the second successive week. Emma Beynon got an early goal and Jodie Passmore doubled the lead in the 27th minute from 25 yards. But Aber feel the two narrow losses show how far they’ve come since the 19 goals they conceded against the Swans last season.

Cardiff City FC won 3-1 at third-placed PILCS to go level on points with them, despite an early goal by Ceri Hudson. Montana May and Kylie Nolan turned the game around by the break and May’s second 20 minutes from time sealed the win.

Cwmbran Celtic edged Cyncoed 3-2 to leave their visitors as one of four sides in danger of the drop on 14 points. Lauren Boyd put Celtic ahead with Fern Burrage levelling. Gwen Davies then put the visitors in the lead in the 57th minute but Niamh Tinman equalised and Boyd completed her brace on 77 minutes to secure all 3 points for the home side.

Newcastle Emlyn secured only their second point of the season when holding Rhyl & Prestatyn to a 1-1 draw. Rebecca Bannister put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute and it wasn’t until stoppage-time that Jess Hammett replied for the hosts, leaving Rhyl in the group of teams on 14 points.

MBi Llandudno are also in the same position following a 1-1 tie at Port Talbot. Jesci Hare netted for Town in the 25th minute but Katie Bowe equalised for Llandudno in the 55th minute.

There’s two more midweek fixtures this Tuesday, as Rhyl entertain Llandudno and Swansea play Port Talbot Town.
