Ludlow: We Are Not Expecting An Easy Game

UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 Group 8 qualifier
Kazakhstan v Wales – 12th April 2016 – 10am (UK time)
BIIK Stadium, Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

Wales have travelled to Kazakhstan for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 qualifier that marks the start of the final four games that will decide if Jayne Ludlow and her side will head to the Netherlands next summer.

Jayne Ludlow said;

“The Cyprus Womens Cup was great preparation for the girls. The fact that we have had four games in quick succession has been great to work on things as a unit. Its a little bit warmer here than back home which is something the girls are actually appreciative of, it’s not something their worried about. They’re looking forward to playing.

“It is the furthest opposition we have played in Europe. Our Team operations staff have done a great job because the flights in total were six and a half, seven hours.The girls have been great. They are all fit and all available to play. We’ve changed our structure to suit the time difference. We are all looking forward to the game tomorrow.

“We checked out the weather and we knew what to expect when we came here. It’s something we as a team are comfortable with.

“We were very happy with the result during our last encounter with Kazakhstan back in November. However, we are not expecting an easy game tomorrow. We are expecting a tough game. It could be a very different game to November. I’m sure the opposition, the Kazakhstan team will be alot more comfortable playing at home. I’m expecting good competition tomorrow.

“We are confident in the ability of our team to compete. Hopefully we’’ll get some luck along the way. We would like to leave with three points, thats the ideal. But football is football, anything can happen. The one thing we are expecting is good competition from the oppositon. It will be a tough game for us.”
