Portsmouth FC Ladies is an FA Charter Standard club, playing in the FA Women’s Premier League, with strong ambitions to progress to and compete in the Women’s Super League. The first team plays at Privett Park, Gosport in Hampshire and the development team at University of Portsmouth, Langstone Sport Site, Furze Lane, Southsea.
Salary: Voluntary Position (reasonable expenses will be paid)
Reports to: Portsmouth FC Ladies Chairman / First Team Head Coach
Line manages: Other volunteer support staff.
Purpose of Post: 1. To work with the first-team head coach, directors, other senior managers and the head of youth development to help shape club philosophy, values, standards and key performance indicators for the club’s future Development Plan.
2. To support the management and development of the first-team squad in line with the Club Development Plan to ensure that the agreed philosophy, values, standards and key performance indicators are being achieved.
3. To monitor, recommend and implement improvements to the Club Development Plan as circumstances permit.
Start Date: ASAP
Key Duties and Responsibilities are:
· Ensuring that all first-team and development squad players are aware of the philosophy, values and standards required by PFCL.
· Implementing a training programme in line with Development Plan guidelines.
· Monitoring and evaluating player performance.
· Assisting with ensuring that one-to-one performance reports for all players are provided.
· Communicating regularly with other senior team managers to ensure there is a development pathway for players.
· Liasing with S&C coach that the needs of players in the following areas are addressed: Sports Science, Psychological, Educational and Nutritional.
· Ensuring that the welfare of younger players and vulnerable adults is safeguarded as outlined in the Safeguarding Policy.
Key skills and experience required:
· An Enhanced FA DBS check.
· UEFA B Coaching Licence.
· Experience in coaching and management.
· First Aid and safeguarding qualifications in date.
· Understanding of the WSL, WPL and woman’s player pathway systems.
· Availability for Sunday matches and weekday training sessions as agreed.
· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Good communication and listening skills.
· Ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines.
· Strong leadership and management skills.
