Cardiff City FC overcame an early red card to progress to the FA of Wales Women’s Cup quarter-finals, Bethel and Pontypridd Town won on penalties.

Cardiff City FC were reduced to ten players but still came from two goals down to win away at The New Saints. The Bluebirds had Lisa Owen dismissed on 16 minutes, after which Courtney Ashworth and Lexie Harrison scored for TNS. But Zoe Atkins and Megan Saunders wiped out the lead and Siobhan Walsh headed the winner with five minutes left.
Abergavenny accounted for top-flight Port Talbot, Amy Thrupp and Kate Jeremiah both scoring inside 15 minutes, Davies with the third at the start of the second half.
Pontypridd Town eventually progressed on penalties at Briton Ferry Llansawel, Bethel also profited from a shoot-out against Connah’s Quay, who had gone ahead in stoppage-time through Kirstie Kural, only for Fflur Williams to equalise.
Pwllheli’s Leanne Rees-Williams got the only goal of the tie at Rhyl.
Barry Town beat Swansea University 4-0, Jennifer Trivett-Taite scoring in the first minute before doubling her tally in the second half, when Mackenzie Olden and Manon Pearce also found the net.
Alisha Northmore-Benson and Chloe Chivers gave the Swans a 2-0 advantage with only 16 minutes played at Cardiff Wanderers, Ria Hughes, Tija Richardson, Stacey John-Davis and Nia Rees all adding one each after the break.
Cardiff Met also hit hosts cascade for six, Elianna Chavez’s opener followed by an Ellie Preece brace, then singles by Emily Allen, Alice Griffiths and Grace Corne.
