#SBSSWPL 2: Hamilton Academical Women win away to leaders

Just five points separate the SBS Scottish Women’s Premier League 2’s top four after Hamilton Academical beat Aberdeen.

Accies defeat Dons

Hamilton Academical came away from Aberdeen 2-1 winners as the Dons lead at the top was cut.

MT Gardiner gave Hamilton a 14th-minute lead and Kathleen McGovern doubled the advantage after the hour mark.

Jessica Broderick pulled a goal back with ten minutes to go but the Dons ran out of time to rescue a point.

Dundee gain on leaders

Dundee United moved within three points of the leaders but from a game more, with a 2-0 victory over St Johnstone.

A counter attack from a Saints corner saw Robyn Smith drive forward and set up Jade McLaren to score.

Two minutes into the second half and Becky McMillan doubled the lead when heading home a corner from Smith.

Killie climb to seventh

Kilmarnock moved up one place in the table with a 3-0 defeat of Queen’s Park

Kirsty O’Brien tapped home a Lisa Swanson cross early on, Aimie Docherty delivering for Lauryn Reside to net in the first couple of minutes of the second half.

Laura Neil nodded home the third goal to seal the three points.

Partick hit six

Partick Thistle put six goals past Stirling University, with five of those coming by the break.

Cheryl McCulloch opened the scoring, Sophie Gallacher bagged a brace, Clare Docherty and a spectacular Amy Bulloch strike taking it to 5-0, before Cara McBrearty completed the scoring.

Boroughmuir bag late leveller

Boroughmuir Thistle battled back to earn a point from the 1-1 draw with Glasgow Women.

Kaitlyn Canavan’s 15th-minutes penalty had the visitors in front but with five minutes to go, Fi Gibson fired Thistle back on level terms.
