Lincoln United and Mansfield Town meet in a Women’s Regional League Cup semi-final after both edged high-scoring ties.
EASTERN – Top spots for Bedford and Bowers & Pitsea
Group B – Bedford beat East Bergholt United 6-1 to clinch top spot with four wins from four.
Group C – Bowers & Pitsea finished top ahead of Royston Town on goal-difference, after being awarded a walkover against Haverhill Rovers.
Group D – Luton Town kept up their hopes of clinching first place by ending those of St Ives Town with a 5-2 defeat. Should the Hatters win their last game at Needham Market, they will displace leaders Wymondham Town on goal-difference.
EAST MIDLANDS – Thriller winners meet in semis
League Cup Q-F: A couple of thrillers went to extra-time, as Lincoln United won 5-4 at Peterborough United and Mansfield Town edged Derby County Academy 4-3. The winning pair meet in the 23 May semi-final, with the Stags having home advantage. Chesterfield won through 4-0 at Notts County Development and next host Northampton Town, who struck twice close to half-time before proceeding to knock out Beaumont Park 5-0.
League Plate Q-F: Oughtibridge War Memorial narrowly won a nine-goal drama with Oadby & Wigston, to set up a home semi-final next Sunday with Sherwood, whose Emily Wragg scored twice in a 3-2 victory over SJR Worksop. Thrapston Town just got the better of Arnold Eagles with Emily Slough netting the only goal, to book a trip to Loughborough Students who eliminated Rise Park 2-0.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Lewes leapfrog Parkwood
Group A – Dartford hit Queens Park Rangers for six to go second in the table, Eastbourne Town ended with a 3-3 draw at Dulwich Hamlet.
Group B – New London Lionesses are in a strong position to win the group, following a 2-1 win at second-placed Clapham United.
Group C – Ashford Ladies still lead on goal-difference following their 6-1 win over Whyteleafe and Sutton United’s 5-1 success at Aylesford
Group D – Lewes Foundation put five past Parkwood Rangers to leapfrog them into second spot, Hassocks had a walkover against Victoire.
NORTH EAST – Wins for Wallsend and York City ahead of County Cup Finals
Subsidiary Cup Group A: Sunderland West End’s Isla Maggs scored three as they netted nine against West Allotment Celtic to go into the next round.
Group B – Wallsend BC were 7-2 winners over Lumley in a midweek tie and they have a Northumberland County Cup Final against Newcastle United on Friday, postponed from last season.
Ossett United had a 5-1 victory over Altofts to set up a clash with either Hull United of Sheffield Wednesday. York City progressed with seven goals against Blyth Town 7-0 but next up for them is the North Riding County Cup Final on 23 May versus Middlesbrough Reserves at York St Johns University.
SOUTHERN – Finals day coming up
Both the Subsidiary Cup and Plate finals are being played on 23 May, with Abingdon Town hosting Moneyfields in the former. Eastleigh warmed up for the Plate final versus AFC Bournemouth Development with a narrow 3-2 friendly defeat against Poole Town.
