A club statement said;
‘Following the departure of key players over the summer and several players leaving in the last few weeks, the squad available would have been very young and not as competitive at such a high level of football.
We have a duty of care not to expose them to that environment at that age, for what could be very harmful to their development, both physically and mentally.’
Forest Green say they are currently in talks with the South West League about being admitted into their competition for the coming season
