City say they expect to make key announcements in regard to a new First Team management and coaching structure in the next couple of days and that work is going on behind the scenes to ensure that their departures do not affect the club’s position at the forefront of the Women’s game.
David Parker joined Birmingham in 2009 as U-16s Manager at the Centre of Excellence.
He became the Reserve Team Manager a year later and the Centre of Excellence Technical Director in 2011
He joined Marcus Bignot at First Team level in 2011 before the start of the WSL.
During his spell as Manager, Blues won the Women’s FA Cup in 2012 and qualified for the Champions League in 2013 and 2014. The Ladies also reached three Continental Tyres Cup Finals.
He said: “It is a sad occasion personally as the past six years have brought unparalleled success to the Club creating some wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
“A legacy has been built and I hope that continues as the Club will always remain close to my heart and it was always a place I could call home with family by my side.
“There are so many people to thank over this journey, but Marcus Bignot, Steve Shipway, Tim Andrews and Mike Maybury deserve a special mention for their continued support and guidance to me over the course of my tenure at the Club.
“Also a huge thank you to all the players and staff I have worked with during my time and the dedicated support of the fans. You have made everything possible by believing in our dreams and visions as we made our mark domestically and in Europe.”
