Rachel Williams, a 32-year-old striker, has left Birmingham City Women ‘to explore other opportunities’ after her contract expired yesterday.

Williams rejoined the Blues in 2017 but a cruciate ligament injury ruled her out of the 2018/19 season, and she eventually made her comeback last September after 13 months out.

She made a total of 94 appearances for City over the two spells, netting 43 goals, and helped the team win the FA Cup in 2012.

An England international, Williamx also represented Team GB at the 2012 Olympics.
