Aston Villa have announced their retained players list as they build toward their debut season in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

Six of the 13 are homegrown players in Asmita Ale, Elisha N’Dow, Jodie Hutton, Amy West, Shania Hayles and Emma Follis, while also staying on are Sian Rogers, Nat Haigh, Ella Franklin, Nadine Hanssen, Sophie Haywood, Emily Syme and Marisa Ewers.

Head Coach Gemma Davies told avfc.co.uk: “With the players we’ve retained, we have the foundations for an exciting, talented and dedicated squad.

“This group were part of something special and I know they’re keen to achieve much more in a claret and blue shirt.

“As a club, we place a strong emphasis on our homegrown players, so it’s great that we will have so many playing in the Super League next season.”
