Welsh Leading Pair Move Further Clear

Swansea remain top of the Orchard Welsh Premier League following a 5-0 victory over Port Talbot Town. A deflected Jodie Passmore free kick gave them the lead, with Alicia Powe and Stacey John getting one each before the break. Sophie Hancocks and a long-range effort from Ria Hughes further extended the lead in the last dozen minutes.

Kate Jeremiah bagged a brace as Abergavenny won 4-0 at Aberystwyth. Lyndsey Davies, and Gaby Hughes were also on target as the visitors stayed a point behind the leaders.

Cardiff City FC Women missed the chance to overtake Cardiff Met in third when held 2-2 by fifth-placed Cyncoed. Lauren Lyons twice gave the Bluebirds the lead in the opening 22 minutes, with Gwen Davies netting inbetween, Nicola Cousins earned Cyncoed a point when firing home 15 minutes from time.

Llandudno’s Katie Bowe scored in each half as her side beat Briton Ferry 3-1. She took only 3 minutes to open the scoring and it was 2-0 on 36 minutes when Samantha Jarvis-Evans picked out Kelsey Davies to score. The arrears were reduced just before the hour mark when Renee Day followed up Lucy Powell’s free kick against the bar. But Bowe struck from 20 yards on 65 minutes to seal the points.
