Northern Division 1 leaders Chorley were held 1-1 at mid-table Morecambe in a Lancashire derby.
Liverpool Marshall Feds won by the odd goal in five against third-placed Hull to move within four points of the Tigers with a game still in hand. Feds’ Charlotte Gill took advantage of a defensive error on 28 minutes but Misty Russell equalised on 55 minutes. Rosie Havelin restored the lead only for Emily Smith to cancel it out from the spot. But when Liverpool went ahead for a third time through Abby Pope, City could find no reply.
Chester le Street’s victory over basement side Tranmere edged them above Blackpool Wren Rovers into sixth spot. Brogan Prudhoe got the opener from a corner, Beth Allison doubled the lead and then set up Chloe Johnson to score, with Amy Kelly getting the fourth before the break. Laura Hockaday completed the scoring at 5-0 midway through the second half.
Keynsham are up to third in South West Division 1 after crushing hosts St Nicholas 7-0. Katie Cook led the way with a three-goal haul, Justine Lorton-Radburn bagged a brace, with one each from Jade Radburn and Geovana.
Cheltenham sent winless Shanklin on their long journey home with a 4-1 defeat, despite the Isle of Wight side took the lead from a 31st-minute penalty. In the 6 minutes before the break, Ella Hitchcox and Ria Salleh struck to turn the game in Town’s favour. Salleh extended the lead moments after the restart and then completed her hat-trick on 77 minutes.
Radcliffe Olympic climbed two places to fifth thanks to their better goal-difference, following a narrow 3-2 result over Solihull.
The weather eventually beat the South East Division 1 clash between Luton and AFC Wimbledon, with the referee calling a halt to proceedings at the interval. The Dons had come closest to scoring with a Jess Trimnell penalty but Jess Devoti made the save.
