Notts County say that Kirsty started her career at hometown club Leicester City, where she spent six years before signing for Arsenal at the age of sixteen. After her spell with the Gunners, the striker joined Birmingham City ahead of the 2013 FA WSL season, spending four seasons at the Midlands club.
During her time with Birmingham, Linnett built on previous U-17 and U-19 call ups for England with seven appearances for the Lionesses’ U-23s.
Linnett has put pen to paper on a deal until May 2019 and joins the Lady Pies in scoring form, having netted six goals in ten appearances in the 2016 FA WSL season.
On joining, the 23-year-old told nclfc.co.uk; “I’m really happy to have signed here at Notts County. I think I needed a new challenge to push my career on and coming to Notts will give me that challenge. I’m delighted to have signed and now I can’t wait to get started.”
Head Coach Rick Passmoor added “Kirsty is a young and exciting forward, who has the ability to score a lot of goals. We’re delighted to have been able to bring Kirsty to Notts County. Kirsty is a player with vast experiences of cup finals as well as playing in the Champions League but she’s still young, and we believe at Notts she has the potential to flourish and become a top international striker.”
