Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Fylde
Blackburn got the only goal in a Lancashire derby with Fylde to stretch their leadership to nine points and still with games in hand.
It was Conrad Prendergast’s first game in charge of the visitors, who held Rovers to a goalless first half.
But Faye McCoy broke the deadlock after 56 minutes with a strike from distance.
Saffron Jordan then forced a smart save by new Fylde keeper Alex Brookes, signed from Everton.
Danielle Hill was forced into a close-range save from Charlotte Farrell 4 minutes into added time, as Blackburn banked another win towards the title.
Cheltenham Town 4-1 Exeter City
Mid-table Cheltenham claimed their fifth victory of the campaign with victory over a winless Exeter City.
Kick-off was delayed by the visitors late arrival and although they fell behind to a goal from the Robins’ Louise Fensome, the Grecians equalised as Louise Illsey netted on her debut.
Jade Wiltshire scored either side of the interval for a 3-1 advantage and then Holly Rogers – 16 years-old and only just breaking into the first team – completed the scoring.
