Back-to-back Reserve Cup glory is still on for Blackburn, after Rovers continued the defence of their trophy with an extra-time win last week over Middlesbrough.
Goalless after 90 minutes, Ellie Doggett scored for the hosts minutes into the added half-hour, with Boro unable to reply in the remaining time.
The holders had to wait a week to find out who the other finalists would be, as MK Dons clash with Spurs was postponed.
Played yesterday, unbeaten Southern leaders Tottenham ran out 4-0 winners away to the Dons.
Ronnell Humes and Cheryl Williams each scored twice to ensure Spurs progressed.
