SRUSA say that their young team got into their stride early and played some free-flowing football. With the game split into three 30 minute thirds, some of the movement and play was some of the best we have seen at an event. Defensively the team were also superb with both full backs been given the license to get forward and impact the play on the attacking side.

It was a great experience for our young girls especially playing against such a strong open aged women’s team in Northampton Town. With 8 of the 14-player squad 16 years or younger, it was good to see them playing with such a freedom and really going out an expressing themselves.
Whenever we run our events, the focus is always to give the players the best environment for them to perform to the best of their ability. We want them to have the confidence to go out and not worry about making mistakes. All the girls from last night were positive in their play and it was a joy to watch the football that was on display.
Upcoming events are coming thick and fast now as we head to Academy Partners, Balby Carr Academy for what will be our third event in 8 days. This will then be followed up with a trial game in March against Harrogate Town Ladies at the fantastic CNG stadium where this year’s showcase event was held. SRUSA will also be announcing some more upcoming southern events in the next couple of days.
