Sunday 26th February (2pm)
FA WSL 2 SPRING SERIES
Brighton & Hove Albion v Oxford United (Sussex County Ground)
Millwall Lionesses v Sheffield FC (Fisher FC)
Watford v London Bees (Kings Langley FC)
Making better memories
New manager Andy Cook takes charge of Oxford for the first time, as his side make a return to Lancing looking to banish memories of their 10-0 FA Cup mauling by Brighton there, just over a year ago.
Albion themselves will be hoping to bounce back from their own disappointment of going out of the cup last week to Spurs.
The U’s campaign began with a 2-1 home reverse to Everton.
Draw specialists?
Millwall meet Sheffield FC, with both their league matches of last season ending in draws. They finished 2-2 in Yorkshire during July 2016 and 1-1 in London in September.
The Lionesses were 3-1 winners over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup last week, Sheffield FC meanwhile going down to a controversial Doncaster penalty.
Herts derby
Hertfordshire pair, Watford and London Bees met three times within a couple of months last term. While the Golden Girls rescued an unilkely point in the first game, the Bees went on to win the others 2-0 and 5-0.
Keith Boanas’s Watford side, whose late fightback at Aston Villa saw them fall a goal short, drew 1-1 in midweek with Canadian touring side MacEwan Griffins, Rinsola Babajide scoring after only 2 minutes.
Coach Liban Mude will be taking charge of the Bees in manager David Edmondson’s absence, as they look to build on their draw with Brighton.
