Port Talbot Town 5-2 Briton Ferry Llansawel
FAW Girls’ Cup Quarter-Finals
Aberdare Town 0-4 Tredegar
Barry Town United H/W Newport City (score tbc)
Aberystwyth Town, without a point, threatened a real shock against a Swansea City side with a 100% record, as Libby Isaac gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half. However, Stacey John-Davies levelled by the break and the Swans added four second-half goals, one apiece for Katy Hosford, Lauren Smith, Nieve Jenkins and Kelly Adams.
Cardiff Met went three points clear of Cardiff City C in second after a 4-1 in at neigbours Cyncoed. Maddie Schupbach scored in the first minute and restored the lead soon after Kirstie Pervin-Davies’ equaliser. Robyn Pinder made it 3-1 on 30 minutes and Aimee Dagnall further extended the advantage in the second half.
Port Talbot Town saw off Briton Ferry Llansawel 5-2, despite Sophie Topper twice pulling a goal back for the away side. Her first was in reply to Jessica Denscombe’s third-minute effort, but her second did not come until after Jessica Hammet, Laura-May Walkley and Lauren Amor had put the hosts in control, Walkley later adding the fifth.
Meanwhile, in the FA of Wales Girls’ Cup, Tredegar went through 4-0 at Aberdare Town to meet Talycopa in the semi-finals and Barry Town United overcame Newport City to set up a meeting with Llantwit Fardre. The ties are to be played on 23rd February at a neutral venue.
