Taome Oliver Signs For Oxford

The 20-year-old, most recently at Notts County, joins the Us as Andy Cook’s first signing of the Spring Series. Taome began her career at Birmingham Centre of Excellence before she joined Arsenal at 16. During her time at with the Gunners, she worked her way up through to the first team and went on to represent England at U-17s level. In 2016, she transferred to Notts County and continued to gain invaluable experience of WSL 1 Football.

The new Oxford manager said: “It’s brilliant for the club to sign Taome. I worked with her previously and know the quality she has. She comes to us with good experiences from Notts County and Arsenal and also an extra motivation to prove herself in the WSL.

I’m sure Oxford United fans will enjoy watching her play. She has played with WSL1 clubs but now Oxford gives her the opportunity to play with confidence and work hard with us to achieve something special here”

Taome told oxfordunitedwfc.co.uk: “I’m delighted to sign for Oxford and also to be working with Andy Cook again. The support that the club are giving to facilitate me in studying an intensive degree whilst also playing football at WSL standard definitely played a huge role in me signing. With an already talented team and a commitment towards progression, Oxford have a really exciting future ahead. I can’t wait to get started with the season and to compete with the team.”
