U-19s End Memorable Weekend For England

Following on from England’s wins over the USA at senior and U-23 level on Saturday, Sunday’s matches at the La Manga U-19 event began with the Lionesses defeating the Netherlands 5-0.

Sam Tierney got the first goal after 12 minutes, Rinsola Babajide doubling the lead before the break. The other three goals came in the space of 13 second-half minutes, through Georgia Allen, an own-goal and Mollie Rouse.

Germany were 2-1 winners over the USA, having scored both their goals in the first half. Janina Minge and Jana Feldkamp were on target, with Sophie Smith replying but with only 8 minutes remaining.   

Scotland held France to a goalless draw, despite losing the previous three encounters with Les Bleuettes.

There was a similar result as Denmark and Italy drew blanks in Sunday’s last match.
