Sheffield United have added Manchester United midfielder Aimee Palmer to their squad on a season-long loan deal.

Palmer, 19, played in the FA Women’s Super League for Bristol City in 2017-18 and impressed enough that she was signed by Casey Stoney for Man United’s debut season in last year’s FA Women’s Championship.

The midfielder, who can also play in defence, made 13 league appearances for the Reds last season and was recently part of the England U-19 side at the European Championships in Scotland earlier this summer.

The teenager made her FA WSL debut as a 16-year-old for Bristol City in the 2017 Spring Series before going on to become a regular in the side the season after, showing her talent despite her young age.

Palmer reunited with her former manager Willie Kirk at Man United last season, helping the team to the FA Women’s Championship title.

“Aimee is a great addition to the squad,” said Blades manager Carla Ward. “Her level of maturity at such a young age is something to admire, she will certainly add a huge amount of competition to an already competitive squad.”
