Cardiff Met proved that they don’t intend to give up their title without a fight, by beating West Wales outfit Newcastle Emlyn 10-0. The Archers scored their first goal within a minute thanks to Captain Emily Allen, who got her second of the game in the 87th minute. A hat-trick from Stacey Ayling (20, 48, 81 mins) and goals from Ellie Sargent (21) Robyn Pinder (27) Erin Murray (79) and a brace from Georgia Bridges (77, 91 mins) sealed the victory for Met.

Swansea City saw off PILCS 2-0 after the last time the two teams met was in the League Cup Final, where PILCS came out 3-2 winners. Sunday’s game saw the Swans keep the early pressure on leaders Cardiff Met by beating last season’s third-placed side thanks to goals from debutant Lara Gait in the 42nd minute and a Sarah Adams free-kick in the 71st minute.

Rhyl & Prestatyn made the trip to Aberystwyth and will be pleased to go home with all 3 points. Lowri Morgan put the Seasiders in the lead in the 9th minute but Rhyl’s scorers – Ashley Mils and Rebecca Banister – have made the step up to senior football this season from last season’s FAW U-16 Girls Cup winners, Prestatyn Girls. Mills drew Rhyl level in the 16th minute, with Banister sealing victory for the North Wales outfit in the 82nd minute.

Port Talbot Town had been in good spirits after victory over Wrexham last weekend but with hosts Cardiff City FC Women drawing last time out, they were also keen to win. Two goals from Shannon Evans in the 32nd and 41st minutes gave Cardiff a comfortable lead going into half-time. Alice Broadley secured the points for the Bluebirds in the 79th minute, giving Cardiff their first win of the season.

League newcomers Cyncoed made their first long trip North for a very competitive game with Wrexham. The home side took the lead in the 13th minute with a goal from Lyndsey Rodgers, Cyncoed drew level in the 34th minute with Carys Hill finding the back of the net. Cyncoed took the lead in the 47th minute through Del Taylor. Rodgers levelled for Wrexham in the 56th minute and completed her hat-trick with a 75th-minute winner.

Due to Cwmbran Celtic having players in the Wales U-19 squad, their trip to MBi Llandudno was postponed.
