Thirty-three Still Giving 100%

With the festive break in the winter leagues now upon us, we scan through all the divisions to highlight those teams that have got this far without dropping a single point.

The leading 8 sides still boasting perfect league records this season all play at the regional level. They include two from the North East in Durham Cestria and Farsley Celtic, two from the West Midlands in Stockingbridge AA Pavilion and Worcester United, plus Buckland Athletic, Leyton Orient, Penrith and Southampton Women’s FC.

Leyton Orient are averaging nearly 6 goals a game in the London & South East League, with Sophie Le Marchand netting 15 in only 7 appearances. Durham Cestria are even more prolific and Anna Young has scored 15 from 6 games as they top the North East League Northern Division 1 with 10 straight wins. Farsley Celtic are well positioned at the Southern Division summit following their 8 victories.

Penrith are the only side in the North West League yet to drop a point but their 9 wins still see them trail Sir Tom Finney in the Northern Division 1 table.

Southampton Women’s Southern League programme has been held back by their progress in the SSE WFA Cup but they have top two Oxford City and Marlow well within their sights.

Buckland Athletic (pictured above) have made a dramatic debut in the South West League, currently topping the Western Division with 9 wins and a six-point advantage over second-placed Alphington.

Stockingbridge AA Pavilion are 11 points clear in West Midlands Division 1 North after as many matches, while Worcester United are second in the South by 8 points from Redditch United but with 5 games in hand.

There are as many as 25 County Leagues outfits with spotless form going into the new year.

Both those in the Beds & Herts League come from Division 3, where Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues lead Evergreen Eagles.

Boldmere St Michaels (pictured below) may only have a three-point lead after 10 wins in the Birmingham Premier but they boast an incredible goal tally of +88.

March Town United are in pole position in the Cambridgeshire Championship North, Stockport County Development (pictured top) similarly in Cheshire Division 2 but with a dozen wins under their belt – the best form across all the leagues.

Bere Regis, third last season in Dorset, are on course for the title this time with 6 points more than both Dorchester Town and Poole Town Reserves.

Durham leaders Boldon CA Villa may be up to double-figures in their league wins but Development Division table-toppers Darlington Spraire have managed one more.

Mill Lane United are going well in East Riding, top by 8 points in their first campaign, ahead of AFC Tickton.

Harlow Town are going great guns again, first in the Essex Premier after 10 games. Frontiers are almost matching that in Division 1 but are still behind Corringham Cosmos.

Frampton Rangers and Chipping Sodbury Town are Gloucestershire’s perfect pair, with only a couple of goals separating them in Division 2.

It looks like Urmston Meadowside will take some stopping in Greater Manchester, 6 points clear with 2 games in hand on both Manchester Girls and Didsbury.

Southampton Women and New Milton Town both look to have strength in depth with their Reserves top of Hampshire Division 1 and second in the third respectively, although Gosport Falcons fly highest in the latter.

St Paul’s have made a strong start in the Jersey Combination, sitting 5 points clear with games in hand.

The new Kidderminster Harriers side defeated last season’s unbeaten Mid West Counties champions, Hereford Lads Club Ladies, during their run of 10 victories.

Thorpe United are the Norfolk League’s top team but Gorleston’s 9 wins see them a massive 15 points clear in Division 2.

Newcomers Harrogate Town are hitting an average of 9 goals per game as North Riding leaders, aided by Carey Huegett’s hefty haul of 35 from 9.

Despite playing fewer games than their rivals, Beighton Magpies look the best in the Sheffield & Hallam top flight, while Harworth Colliery hold the Division 3 leadership.

Sitting pretty in Suffolk are Ipswich Town Reserves, while Middleton Athletic hold sway in the West Riding third on goal-difference.

Llangyfelach are alone in Wales – not just the West Wales League – with a 100% record and currently heading for the Welsh Premier League.
