Cardiff Met won through to the FAW Women’s Cup quarter-finals by knocking out Swansea City, while Welsh League side Cascade bowed out by the only goal to top tier Abergavenny.

In the tie of the round, all the goals came in the opening 14 minutes as Cardiff Met came from behind to beat Swansea City 2-1. The Swans scored 2 minutes in with a Jodie Passmore free kick but Liv Thompson levelled and Tija Richardson headed in the winner from a corner.
Kate Jeremiah scored after only 3 minutes for Abergavenny but second tier Cascade managed to limit them to that single goal.
Cascade’s Kate Davies praised her side on Twitter: ‘Over the moon with ever single player that put a Cascade shirt on today! So proud of their performance and attitude! Stepped up and gave Abergavenny a real good battle to lose 1-0 to an offside goal is gutting! We showed we can play with the top teams!’
Cardiff City FC progressed past Port Talbot Town after Lisa Owen gave them a half-time lead. Alana Murphy doubled the advantage with a free kick and Cath Walsh netted the third, Courteney Thomas replying with a late consolation.
Rhyl successfully came through their trip to North Wales League outfit Airbus UK, Alaw Davies-Smith and Laura Williams on target in a 2-0 win.
Caernarfon Town, who recently withdrew from the Welsh Premier, are still in the cup after a 2-1 result at Llanfair United. Their initial lead through Catrin Thomas was soon cancelled out by Mary Griffiths but when a free kick was dropped by Tracey Godsell, Jade Cooke pounced to net what proved to be the winning goal.
Llandudno saw off Aberystwyth Town 4-0 with a brace by Fflur WIlliams and one each for Kelsey Davies and Mari Gibbard.
Briton Ferry Llansawel put seven past Splott Albion, Becca Rees with a hat-trick, a Lucy Powell double and singles from Ela Roberts and Renee Day.
Cyncoed matched that tally against Barry Town United, with four for Caitlin Davies and three by Kirstie Davies.
