Seven Up For City
Champions for the last ten seasons, Glasgow City kicked off their title defence by putting seven past Stirling University.
Savannah Jordan made it six goals in two games for City, netting her second consecutive hat-trick, having headed in the opener on 5 minutes.
Noelle Murray made it 2-0 at the second attempt and a powerful Leanne Ross strike made it 3-0 soon after the restart.
Jordan then scored the next two goals, taking the lead to 5-0 in the 73rd minute after Mourray and Brogan Hay combined well.
Keeva Keenan fired in the sixth and substitute Hay also left the students’ keeper picking the ball out of the back of the net.

Hibs Hold Off Gers Fightback
Hibernian were the main challengers for the championship last term and they began with a 4-2 win at Rangers.
Hibs stunned Rangers with three goals in a seven-minute spell, as Abi Harrison, Lucy Graham and Siobhan Hunter netted, the latter off a whipped-in Emma Brownlie free-kick.
Although Chelsea Cornet cut the ball back for Graham to get the fourth, Rangers showed some resilience by replying twice in three minutes through a Claire Gemmell free-kick and a composed Hannah Robertson finish when one-on-one with the keeper.
Cunningham Keeps Celtic Ahead
Celtic were another side to get in front but then show a few nerves before holding on for victory.
At Hamilton Academical, Courtney Whyte headed the Hoops one up via the post from a Heather Richards corner and the lead was doubled on 63 minutes when Gill Inglis put through her own goal from another good Richards delivery.
Lori Gardner lobbed the Accies back into the match and keeper Megan Cunningham had to make a point-blank save to prevent Laura Gallen from levelling.
Action from Aberdeen versus Spartans (Aberdeen FC Ladies)
Dons Deny Spartans
Spartans took a two-goal lead away at Aberdeen but ended up having to settle for a draw.
Colette Cavanagh followed up a Carla Boyce shot to score and then Boyce headed home the second herself to give the visitors a 2-0 interval advantage.
Hannah Stewart hit back with two penalty goals, winning the first spot-kick herself and also converting after Jo Fraser was brought down.
Samantha McDonald might have claimed all three points for the Dons but saw her volley come back off the bar.
Forfar In First
Forfar are the early leaders in SWPL2 following a 4-1 result over East Fife. Kirsty Deans took just 5 minutes to get their opening goal, with Laura Parsley, Robyn Smith and Cheryl Kilcoyne adding one each in the second half. Melissa McAllister pulled a goal back shortly after the hour mark.
Jeanfield made it a successful trip to Motherwell, where they scored three times without reply. Danni McGinley scored 5 minutes into each half, with Eilidh McIntyre rounding off the scoring on 52 minutes.
Hearts had trailed 1-0 to Buchan but equalised by the break and got two late goals for a 3-1 win. Brogan Anderson, Holly Aitchison and Ashley Carse were on target for the home side.
Glasgow Girls were 2-1 victors at Edinburgh University Hutchison Vale, where Maxine Fury fired them in front shortly before half time. Kirsty McDonald doubled the lead from distance, with Anna Hume halving the deficit with the final kick of the game.
