England and Reading’s Jo Potter has been appointed Head Coach at National League North side Coventry United.

Coventry say that in her new role Potter will work closely with manager Jay Bradford on the training pitch, while continuing her playing career with the Royals.

United also state that the addition of such an experienced and knowledgeable individual is a strong sign of their ambition and intent.

Speaking to Coventry United TV, Potter said: “When I saw the position come up for availability I was really interested. After speaking to Jay and seeing the facilities, it made the decision easy for me. I know the history of the club. I’ve played in and around this area for many years. I know many of the girls, I know what they can achieve, and I know the ability they have.”

Bradford added: “For somebody like Jo to want to work with us shows where the club is going. We are moving in the right direction, and she’s noticed that. I want to work with experienced people, with good people, and she ticks all those boxes. I think it’s going to be a really good partnership.”
