The fourth in our series of end of season round-ups from the County Women’s Leagues features doubles for both Bungay Town and Crosby, plus an even better record for Boston United.
Lancashire – Haslingden’s one hundred per cent
Penwortham Town took pole position in the Premier ahead of Blackburn CSC Development.
An unbeaten Sir Tom Finney topped the Championship by a two-point margin from Burnley Belvedere. Burnley did well to also make the League Cup final, where they only lost on penalties to top flight Wigan Athletic Development.
Haslingden finished with a 100% record in League One as Hindley held second place on goal-difference from Penrith Development.
Leicestershire – Fosse pull off cup final shock
Lutterworth won all their league games but for one draw to take the title by 6 points from Asfordby Amateurs.
However, the champions surprisingly lost out 1-0 to last-but-one Leicester City Ladies Fosse in the Cup final.
Lincolnshire – Boston unbeatable
Boston United’s 100% record had them win the title by 11 points from Cleethorpes Town, who were narrowly ahead of third-placed Gainsborough.
Boston were even more commanding in the League Cup and lifted the trophy after hammering HBW United 14-0. The final featured a double hat-trick for Tracey Duxbury-Mead.
Liverpool – Crosby to the fore
Crosby were crowned champions after finishing four points ahead of Maghull, who in turn beat Tranmere Rovers Reserves to the runners-up spot by a single point.
Crosby also collected the League Cup when dismissing Tranmere by four goals to nil.
Midwest Counties – Championship returns to Hereford
Hereford Lads Club Ladies made it a third Midwest Counties title in 4 years but left it until their last match.
A 3-1 victory over Welland made sure of first place, as they picked up 49 of the 54 points available, TDMS were second with 5 points fewer.
North Riding – Redcar win title decider
Redcar Town enjoyed a six-point gap between themselves and the rest at the conclusion of the league.
The decider was their 6-2 win at runners-up South Park Rangers in the pair’s final game, where Jessica Round hit a hat-trick.
Poppleton and Catterick both fell a point short of Rangers in third and fourth respectively.
Norfolk – Brace of trophies for Bungay
Bungay Town took Division 1 on goal-difference from Sprowston LFC but had been left with a nail-biting afternoon. Their title rivals led at Wymondham Town Reserves but let their half-time advantage slip to draw 3-3.
A second-half Selina Rowland goal saw Bungay edge FC Sprowston 1-0 in the League Cup final.
However, FC Sprowston were successful in the second division with a tally 2 points better than Beccles Town, and Sprowston LFC lifted the Plate with a 2-1 victory over North Walsham.
