Sunday 26th March
ORCHARD WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE
Swansea City 4-0 Rhyl
The result from the only game of the day took the Jacks out of Abergavenny’s reach and left Cardiff Met needing to win at least three of their remaining four fixtures in order to threaten City’s leadership at all.
The Swans took the lead with a goal from Stacey John in the 28th minute and the same player struck again 6 minutes into the second half.
Emma Beynon extended the advantage with 20 minutes to go and Katie Davies then completed the scoring.
Seven points from the last nine available will now see the Swans seal the title and they go to Rhyl for the return match next week but then have three weeks before finishing their campaign at home to Cyncoed.
Although on Sunday April 9th, they have the FAW Women’s Cup Final against Cardiff Met at Penybont FC’s Bryntirion Park, kick off 2pm.
Fixtures for Sunday 2nd April (2pm):
Aberystwyth Town v Cardiff City FC Women
Briton Ferry Llansawel v Abergavenny
Cardiff Met v Cyncoed
Rhyl v Swansea City
FAW Girls’ U-16 Cup Final: Newcastle Emlyn v Rhydyfelin (Stebonheath Park, Llanelli).
