#WU17EURO : Salmon sends England into semi-finals

England made it through to the UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship semi-finals with a 4-0 win over Italy.

John Griffiths’ side had needed to win this final group game to have a chance of progressing and they did all they could, with four second-half goals.

Ebony Salmon was the star of the show with an eighteen-minute hat-trick, before Annabel Blanchard completed the scoring.

Spain ran out 5-0 winners over Poland to finish top of the table, thereby confirming England’s runners-up spot in Group B.

The Young Lionesses will play Group A winners and holders Germany on Friday, while Spain face Finland, with both matches streamed live by UEFA,
