England U-19s Reach Euro Finals

Having defeated mini-tournament hosts Turkey 3-0 in their opening game, the Young Lionesses doubled their points with a 2-0 victory over Denmark today.

Megan Finnegan broke the deadlock 3 minutes into the second half and Georgia Stanway extended the advantage with 10 minutes left.

Mo Marley’s side then had to wait and see if the other group game went their way…and it did.

As long as the Czech Republic failed to win, England would be declared group winners.

Natalie Kodakova did give them the lead but Turkey turned it around through ?layda Civelek. Denisa Skalova did level the scores up put that was alredy into added time.

The 2-2 result therefore sends England to the finals in Northern Ireland this August but they first have the task of finishing on maximum points when facing the Czech Republic on Monday afternoon.
