Swansea In Europe

Cardiff Met had to win to maintain hopes of catching the leaders but having gone ahead in the first half, they were unable to claim all three points as the visitors equalised. The draw left the Archers  points behind Swansea with only a couple of games left. So it will be the Swans who have a Champions League place to look forward to this August.

Daley At The Double

Fifth-placed Cyncoed are three points ahead of Llandudno after twice coming from behind to defeat them 4-2. After the visitors scored first on 32 minutes, Clare Daley levelled only for Cycnoed to go behind again before the break. A long-range strike from Alice Griffiths brought the hosts back level again and after they went in front for the first time, Daley doubled her tally late on to make sure of the victory.

Ferry Force First Win

In their penultimate game of their debut WPWL campaign, Briton Ferry won for the first time, 3-2 away at Port Talbot. However, they now cannot avoid ending bottom of the table. Vicky Stratton opened the scoring on 29 minutes for Port Talbot but Hancock cancelled that out just 4 minutes later. Shortly after the hour mark, an own-goal from former Town player Carys Wilkinson had the home side back in the lead. But a free-kick from Rees and Laura May Walkley effort 3 minutes later quickly turned the match in Ferry’s favour.

Rhyl Escape Bottom Two

Aberystwyth Town finished their fixtures in the bottom two on goal-difference, after Rhyl collected three crucial points in the 4-0 victory. Late in the first half, a Rachel Nattrass shot did just enough to beat Aber keeper Katie Christopher. Nattrass got her second after 55 minutes and shortly afterwards Emily Jones made it 3-0. With 5 minutes left on the clock, Rebecca Bannister caught the keeper off her line to complete the scoring.
