Jersey FA Vice President Iain Mackenzie said; “We are delighted to announce this fixture against Sheffield Utd Football Club. This is a unique opportunity for our ladies to play in a historic stadium against quality opposition.”
Jersey FA Women’s interim Head Coaches Daniel Seviour and Jodie Botterill will be taking the team for the match against Sheffield United on Sunday.
Botterill said; “We are looking forward to the challenge of playing against Sheffield United. We are aware that they are a strong team, who have recently been promoted from their current league. It will be great experience to travel to an away fixture as preparation for the Island Games. The squad have been looking strong in training and are motivated for the fixture.”
Sheffield United Coach Lee Walshaw said; “We’re looking to climb the pyramid at this end. The ladies have played one game there this season and have done pitch walks at half-time during first-team games. There’s also a full page in the first-team’s programme at every home game.”
